Today we have had to take the decision to cancel the 2020 Agifors Crew Management Meeting in Istanbul.


We are very sad to have had to take this this decision, but given the uncertainty that surrounds the COVID-19 Virus, we had no other option than to take this. There are currently numerous travel restrictions imposed by national authorities around the globe, restricting people traveling from one country to the other. And more of these restrictions are being imposed on a moment by moment basis.


The current situation is so much in motion at this moment, that there is no way for us to predict how it will continue to develop in the 40 days leading toward the projected start date of the event. We could not take the responsibility in case our delegates could not return timely and safely to their point of origin. But foremost we do not want to add the tiniest bit of risk to the health of anybody.


At this point we want to apologize to all who were, like us, looking forward to the event. Those who have registered already will get a refund. This also applies to all the sponsors of the event. Their sponsorship fees will be refunded also. 


Also we do want to express a mountain of thanks to the absolutely marvelous team at Turkish Airlines. They have done an outstanding job, and we were heading towards a truly wonderful event. So sad, that it was not to be, at least not in 2020. However, we sincerely hope to retain Turkish Airlines as the co-host for the 2021 Agifors Crew Management Meeting.


Our thanks also go to all those who took the effort to register already, and to those who intended to do so in the coming weeks. Without you, this event would not be here! We do hope that you will all bear with us, and continue to support the Agifors community next year. We will be back, better and bigger than ever!

This year's event will take place in the magnificent Renaissance Polat Istanbul hotel.


Renaissance Polat Istanbul hotel, ideally located at the beach of the Marmara sea. Unfortunately the airport that was almost next door has moved to a new location. it will now be around 50 minutes drive to get to the hotel from the new airport, but you will be able to avaid most traffic. There is a hotel shuttle bus. If you want to use it best make a reservation for it on +90 212 414 18 00.

    Non-members pay USD 50 extra.
  • Industry/Government: USD 600
  • Vendor: USD 900
Cancellation is possible up to two weeks prior to the event (we prefer not to of course), with a fee of USD 100 to cover the expenses made. After that a refund is not possible anymore.

Visa Information

The Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application System was launched on 17 April 2013 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. An e-Visa is an official document permitting entry into and travel within Turkey.


The e-Visa is an alternative to visas issued at Turkish missions and at the ports of entry.


Applicants obtain their visas electronically after entering required information and making payments by a credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa or UnionPay).
The link to download your e-Visa is given on the final step where you will be informed that your application has been completed successfully. In addition, the same link to download your e-Visa will be emailed to you. Passport control officers at ports of entry can verify your e-Visa on their system. However, you are advised to keep your e-Visa with you either as a soft copy (tablet PC, smart phone, etc.) or as a hard copy in case of any failure on their system.
As in the case of other visas, respective Turkish officials at the ports of entry reserves the right to deny entry into Turkey to a holder of an e-Visa without any explanation.

Note: starting from March 2nd 2020 Turkey will also lift visa restrictions for tourists from Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the U.K.


Second note: there are various bogus sites that claim to be able to provide you with your visa. All they provide you with is a huge bill and no visa. Please tak e care to only go to the official covernment site, as provided above.

Call For Presentations

A meeting like this is nothing without content. And the content should come from you. For that reason I would hereby request if you would consider submitting a technical presentation for the conference also. So, come and share with us your ideas, thoughts, practical innovations, current trends, case studies, philosophies, and latest advances on the topics which are relevant to you. 






Requirements of Presenting

  • A 30-45 minute presentation
  • Willingness to comply with requests for additional information and clarification on abstract and/or presentation material
  • Willingness to tailor a presentation for the AGIFORS Crew Management audience and to accept direction from the selection committee in doing this
  • Must register and attend the meeting

April in Istanbul is the start of spring, with longer, warmer days. The average temperature for the month is 12C, with highs of a very reasonable 16C. The temperature does fall significantly overnight and visitors can expect lows of around 8C. The hottest temperature ever recorded at this time in the region is around 34C
