2023 Scheduling and Strategic Planning (SSP) Conference

In-person  |  May 22-24  |  Santiago, Chile

Overview

We are quite excited to announce that once again we are meeting in -person after three years due to the pandemic!

Join us in-person in Santiago de Chile in May 22-24

Looking forward to hearing from you and our community about the latest challenges and developments, new ideas, case studies, and latest technological advances. Major topics to be discussed and reviewed relate to how network planners and schedulers adjust to post-pandemic climate, advances on forecasting and network and schedule optimization, such as demand forecasting, market share forecasting, robust scheduling, fleet assignment, network strategies, codeshare/alliance decisions, maintenance routing, collaboration between schedule optimization and crew , and many more.

This year, SSP and Crew Management study groups conferences are happening concurrently! By joining our conference, you will meet and network with colleagues in both study groups!  We will have separate registration and technical program. We will however have joint social events (welcome reception, lunches and dinners, and a social event), and plan a joint technical session on topics covering Crew and Network and Schedule Planning synergies.

We look forward to seeing you in May!

Weather

May is a great month to enjoy this diverse, far-flung country. Summer crowds are long gone, and it's still too early for skiing. Autumn, then, is the time to head to the country's great outdoors to enjoy the foliage and observe spectacular landscapes in peace. (source)

The policy of AGIFORS for all study group meetings is to have the registration fee for Airline and Academics delegates as low as possible. The philosophy behind this is that academics are likely to enter new lines of thought into our field, and having a strong presence by airlines brings great value both to vendors and airlines. This would only be possible because of our sponsors. Thank you!

If you consider sponsoring our conference and supporting AGIFORS, various packages are available. With each package your company will be recognized an official sponsor and your logo will be included in all communications regarding the conference. Please contact us at ssp@agifors.org for other benefits such as a vendor booth, logo/banner placement in the conference venue, vendor presentation (showcasing your company, products and services), etc. Discounts may apply if  you sponsor both SSP and Crew Management conferences; just contact us please.

You can sign up for sponsorship online here.

(Please make sure to select SSP)

Conference Program

Call for Presentations

Our conferences are driven by the contributions of you and our SSP community. We always have a great exchange between operations research and analytics professionals in our industry. This year as well, join us, present your work and ideas to a diverse audience of industry leaders, receive feedback and suggestions, and help generate new ideas. Submit your abstract and help shape the future of our profession in the airline industry.

Talks can be on any relevant topic, including but not limited to network planning, fleet planning, robust scheduling, schedule reliability, gate assignment, block time design, demand forecasting, market share forecasting, maintenance routing, schedule adjustments to reduce crew demand and costs, and more. Especially this year, we encourage talks on synergies between network and schedule optimization and crew planning, scheduling, and training.
