This year we have made arrangements for you to stay in either one of two hotels.  The number of discounted rooms is limited, so make your reservation as soon as possible:

• Marriott Marquis City Center Doha: This is the conference venue.  Rooms are available at a discounted rate of QAR 550 (~US$148) per night, with availability from Saturday, 10 May to Friday, 16 May
• Le Meridien City Center Doha: This is approximately a 10 minute air-conditioned walk from the conference venue (~700 M, ~2,000 ft.).  Rooms are available at a discounted rate of QAR 500 (~US$135) per night, with availability from Saturday, 10 May to Friday, 16 May
  

The two hotels are at either end of Doha's largest indoor shopping mall, so there is no need to go outside to get from the Meridien to the Marriott (the daytime temperatures in Doha during the conference will be ~40 C/100 F; at night ~26 C/80 F).  The hotels and mall are shown in the pictures below:

The hotels are both located in downtown Doha, approximately a 20 minute drive from the airport.  A further note on hotels regarding local cultural issues: it is not necessary for couples to be married to share a room.  Also regarding women's clothing, there are no restrictions in the hotels.  However, outside the hotels women must be covered from the shoulders to and including the knees.  And it is also a good idea to bring a shawl.
