Daniel, Stecher
Ibs Software Services
While visiting globally 121 airlines and their OCC's which are managing around 16,000 aircraft every day, Daniel is exploring airline IT environments and processes. He often meets similar IT environments and working situations: plenty of screens and keyboards of non-integrated IT systems, paper, XLS, reactionary decision making, human interfaces. Whether legacy airlines, LCC, regional carrier, cargo or charter airlines, they’re all face the same challenges and requirements: Decision Making Quality, Process Automation, Disruption Management, Collaborative Decision Making, Crew Scheduling Optimization, Fatigue Risk Management, CO2 Emission Reduction, Costs and OTP. Daniel suggests digital tools and processes and how to change the status quo and helps managers Redefining Airline Operations. As Vice President and Head of Global Sales for Airline Operations he is responsible for global sales and business development of the brand new airline operations digital platform "iFlight". Since its launch in 2017 more than 20 airlines and 3 airline groups have selected iFlight and digitally transform their airline operations and crew management now. Daniel created the OPS 2020 industry event which brings together global airlines and is dedicated to the global Airline Operations and Crew Management Community. http://ops2020.ibsplc.com/ Daniel has more than 25 years of experience spanning over the logistics industry (e.g. courier, express, parcel, air cargo, airport ground handling, freight forwarder, cargo carriers, airlines) and has been traveling almost two million miles, in order to meet with industry experts and customers from the air cargo industry and airline business IT solutions industry.

Ahuja, Ravindra
Optym
Ravi is the founder of Optym and an academician turned entrepreneur. In an academic career spanning over 30 years, he has taught at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and the University of Florida, Gainesville. He is the coauthor of three textbooks including Network Flows: Theory, Algorithms and Applications (a leading textbook used at hundreds of universities worldwide) and over 100 research papers in optimization, mathematical modeling and algorithms. He has contributed significantly to the theory and application of network optimization, and his research papers and books are widely cited. He has received several prestigious awards for his books and research papers. While doing research for transportation and logistics companies, Ravi discovered a big disconnect between academics and industry practice. He observed that advances taking place in optimization and computer science weren’t benefitting the transportation and logistics industry, which continued to use rudimentary techniques. Determined to change that, he founded Innovative Scheduling (which later changed into Optym) to bring the latest advances from theory to business. He continues to play a key role in Optym’s evolution from a local start-up to a global provider for decision automation and optimization solutions. He is a hands-on person who works with colleagues to solve business problems and design algorithms and user interfaces. He also performs consulting work and oversees new product development, partnership opportunities and business development initiatives. Ravi earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. He enjoys reading books, watching documentaries, traveling and seeing the world, and meditation.

My non-airplane related passions include family and philosophy which means I spend most of my times face-timing with my 9 month old niece to discuss philosophical topics. Air Canada
23 years in the aviation industry, all of which have been with Air Canada. I've held management positions in Maintenance, Corporate Scheduling and SOC. Currently my role encompasses a combination of close in fleet deployment as well as serving as an operational advocate in matters related to robust schedule design. My mandate includes increasing SOC's use of data to support operational decision making as well as supporting strategic planning in pursuit of OTP improvements. Currently we are focused on simply getting through this terrible chapter in our business.
