WeatherWe scheduled the conference to not overlap with major Christian, Muslim and common political holiday weeks. The weather in Barcelona is very pleasant in the spring, partly cloudy. You can expect that the daytime high may be 68°F / 20°C and nighttime lows will be around 50°F / 10°C. Sunset will be around 8:50 pm. This should be perfect for our afternoon and evening outings. ClothingClothing is casual for the conference and for all events. A sweater or light jacket is probably recommended for our outings, as they will be late in the evening. Hotel ShipmentsVendors and sponsors, please note that you can ship your merchandizing and exhibit materials to the hotel before the conference. The hotel has asked for them to be delivered one week prior to the event under the following reference: AGIFORS CONFERENCE / Pablo Perez Attn: <your representative> <your company> Hilton BarcelonaAvenida Diagonal 589-591 08014 Barcelona, Spain Note: If sending more than 5 boxes / 50 kg., the hotel will charge a handling fee of €200. If boxes are received more than a week before the conference, there will also be a storage fee. | Getting to the HotelThe hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the airport. It is also 5-8 minutes walk from the nearest metro (subway) station: Maria Cristina. Barcelona has an extensive subway network, which is what we will use to get to our afternoon and evening events on Wednesday and Thursday. Here is a map of the way from the airport to the hotel:
The best way to travel from the airport is by taxi. The fare should not exceed €35 and is usually around €30, depending on traffic. Tell the taxi driver "Hilton Barcelona". There is a second Hilton Hotel called the "Hilton Diagonal Mar". Confusion may arise, because the Hilton Barcelona is on Avenida Diagonal.
